Fridge Project
So here is the first ‘layer’ of my fridge. From what I envision this will be printed out and cover the entire front, and from there I am going to mess with paint, pens, markers, etc and go nuts over the thing. I really like the idea of having digital meets analog ‘art’, and I think it will contrast well on the look of the old vintage fridge that I was sent.
Oh, and below I included a snapshot of what it looked like pre textures and all that.

This retro fridge door showed up at my house the other day, shipped all the way from Toronto and originating from god knows where. The reason I now have it is because myself and five other artists were chosen to be a part of The Junction Art Festival this September in Toronto. Basically refrigerators aren’t the greatest for energy conservation, so the theme of the exhibition revolves around going green, the environment and alternative measures to what we can do to reduce the wasted energy being produced.
This will be the first of many blogs in the next couple of weeks where I show the progression of the door going from just an old fridge, to an actual form of art. Everyone involved is really excited to be a part of this exhibit, and it is icing on the cake that it is representing something meaningful.
Hopefully some of you Torontonians can come check out the festival. It is September 9th – 13th and should be full of some really cool things. Myself and the other artists will more then likely be in attendance, so come and say what’s up. Anyways, keep checking in to see the progress, it should be pretty cool.

This looks great! Can’t wait to see how it ends up.
