You just said you love me, now if I say I love you and just throw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may and you’re lying to me I’m gonna fuckin’ die.

I rarely go to the movies, but today I decided that since I have finished a lot of work lately, and really needed some time to just sort’ve ‘enjoy’ myself, I would check out a flick.
We saw Inglourious Basterds, and I left it thinking about how amazing it was, and that it could be one of my top films of the year. Well, fast forward a few hours, some beers and wine later, and Gordie saying we should watch the new Robin Williams movie called ‘World’s Greatest Dad’.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but I love Robin williams (Awakenings was amazing), so I was super down. All I can really say is to watch the trailer, and then find the movie online (or go see it in the theatre).
I will leave it at this and say that I really never would have guessed that Bobcat Goldthwait could write and direct my favorite movie I have seen so far this year. If that’s not enticing enough to check it out, I don’t know what is. (It’s like someone saying the Hamburgler and Grimace were in a playoff for the British Open, but the fry guys got a hole in one and blew everyone away)
Just watch the trailer, and enjoy.
This movie was a staple when I was younger. It was awesome seeing the Degrassi gang being able to swear, feeling up girls in cars, and Yick Yu transform into the ultimate cool dude. If you have the time search out the episode of Degrassi – The Next Generation when Wheel’s makes a cameo. I can remember when Costa and I we’re living together and this episode came on. Joey was trying to cheer up Snake and said an ‘old friend’ was here to see him. We literally looked at each and just knew that what we had been waiting a good 15 years for what was about to happen – Derek ‘Wheels’ Wheeler was about to return to the Degrassi fold. The most impressive thing was that he had aged the best out of the three original members of ‘The Zit Remedy’.
Anyways, below is a link to all twelve parts of ‘School’s Out’. I’m sure a bunch of you have never seen this, and I would highly recommend changing that.
Oh, and a pretty neat Degrassi piece of trivia – Fox tryed to buy the Degrassi franchise and move it to L.A., only keeping Joey Jeremiah as the only original cast member. The Degrassi crew eventually decided against it, and thought it would lose it’s innocence and integrity by being Hollywoodized. Well, after they moved past the idea a show called ’90210′ came on the air, which was a direct result of not being able to obtain the rights to Degrassi High.
Imagine Joey Jeremiah hanging out at The Peach Pit with Dylan and Steve. Super weird. Anyhow, here is the movie -
PS. I watched the new Degrassi movie tonight, and i’m still undecided about it. That’s why I figured I had to throw the classic up here, so that when the new one airs this week we can at least remember what used to be of one of the greatest shows ever made.
I found these two super weird Spike Jonze directed commercials. They are for SoftBank, and both star Brad Pitt. I am pretty sure they are to be aired in Japan, because I can only assume North Americans would have no idea what’s going on.
It’s 9:15 am and I just found a John Hughes tribute pack with all of his movies streaming. I am currently watching ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’ and don’t see the marathon ending anytime soon. I kind’ve want to make some popcorn, but I dunno how well that goes over this early in the morning. I guess I could have a bowl of cornpops?
Tom still believes, even in this cynical modern world, in the notion of a transforming, cosmically destined, lightning-strikes-once kind of love. Summer doesn’t. Not at all. But that doesn’t stop Tom from going after her, again and again, like a modern Don Quixote, with all his might and courage. Suddenly, Tom is in love not just with a lovely, witty, intelligent woman (not that he minds any of that) but with the very idea of Summer, the very idea of a love that still has the power to shock the heart and stop the world.
So good i’ve blogged about it twice. Go see it.
I remember when I first saw this concert video, and it completely blowing my mind. Some years ago me and a bunch of friends were at a buddies loft in Toronto when this video got popped in. It was pretty much background music for everyone partying, but I got sucked into it and just sat there watching in awe. That was the first and only time I have ever seen that dvd, and sort’ve fell off The Talking Heads kick shortly after. It wasn’t until a few years later that I was snoopin’ a pretty girls myspace and she had this song playing whenever you viewed her page. I don’t know if it was her or the song that kept me coming back to that page, but in the end I gained my love for The Talking Heads back, and may or may not have convinced said pretty girl to hang out with me.
This song means a lot to me, and is usually playing in the soundtrack that is my favorite memories of Toronto. Check out the DVD ‘Stop Making Sense’ if you can, it will blow you away. You can buy it here, and I like presents (hint hint).
PS. The next time Darrell, Gordie and I go out dancing I am going to try and convince David Byrne to come with. He’s got some serious moves.

Director / writer / producer John Hughes passed away today of a heart attack, he was 59 years old. I love film, and even went to school for it, so it’s kind of surreal when someone who has played such a major roll in developing your idea of comedy, writing and direction is no longer around. I was really looking forward to seeing something new of his one day, but I guess that’s no longer a reality.
Anyways, he was an amazing writer and director, and will be greatly missed. Just look at this list of classics he either wrote or directed –

Such a huge bummer…
Here is one of my ‘performances’ for Much Music. When you see Matt getting peed on it is actually me crouched below him spitting water into his face.
New Sky Force 6 episode. I think the funniest part about this entire series is Ben blowing up that building with a shotgun, then his face when he looks at the camera, and then looks away. So amazing.
